Spotlight - Lynne Suzette Carter
International Boxing Judge, WISC Philadelphia Leader
Our
newcomer, Lynne Suzette Carter is an International Boxing Judge
and the Founder and Executive Director of a non-profit organization,
“A Fight for the Cause Foundation.”
Lynne has been a boxing judge since 1982 and travels all over the
world on behalf of the sport. On several occasions she was the 1st
female or African American female to judge in foreign countries.
She is a member of all the World Boxing Organizations and has received
many accolades for her accomplishments. She was the recipient of
the Outstanding Citizen’s Award, at the Capitol in Harrisburg,
Pa. In 1998 and 2000, she was named “Judge of the Year.”
Philadelphia City Council, Camden City Council and the Philadelphia
Bar Association honored her as a “Pioneering Woman in Boxing”.
In March 2007, she received the “Guiding Light in the Community
Award” founded by Congressman Lucien Blackwell, for her outstanding
community work.
Some of Lynne’s other interests are: Fundraising,
Organizing Special Events, Sports Travel, and Meeting and Convention
Planning. She has organized or assisted in the implementation and
coordination of numerous events such as: Singing for Katrina Gospel
Concert, A Fight for the Cause Fundraising Gala (Katrina), World
Champion Bernard Hopkins Victory Parade, American Diabetes Annual
Gala, October Gallery Expo, Magic Johnson Foundation, Celebrity
Billiard Championships, Book Signings, Sporting Events and a host
of others. She is presently planning a “Legends in Boxing
Gala in South Africa.”
